Creating a Safe Space for the Girl Child

Founded on February 9, 2023, Esohe & Adaobi is a non-governmental organization committed to eradicating period poverty and health issues faced in Nigeria and across Africa.

Why Menstrual Health Matters

According to UNICEF, 1.8 billion people menstruate. Factors such as gender inequality, poverty, and the absence of hygiene services create disruptions in work and education. Discrimination often leads to harassment and exclusion. Achieving health equity involves providing social support, education, proper sanitation, and accessible period products.

people menstruate globally

Menstrual health is a fundamental human right. Those who menstruate should have affordable, easily accessible products, tax-free and available in public spaces such as schools, shelters, and prisons. Our Menstrual Health Initiative aims for systemic change through education, awareness, and donations, working towards eradicating period poverty in our generation.

What is Period Poverty?

The limited or inadequate access to menstrual products or menstrual health education as a result of financial constraints or societal stigmas linked to menstruation.

World Bank data reveals a gap: over 300 million women menstruate globally, yet 500 million lack period products.

Your Health is Your Wealth

At Esohe & Adaobi, we believe that true wealth lies in good health. Beyond our commitment to eradicating period poverty, we recognize the importance of overall health for girls and women.

Our dedication extends to addressing broader health issues, empowering girls and women with access to comprehensive health resources, education, and support.
